Your donations save lives!
Early Alert Canines' mission is to train medical detection dogs. We enhance the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with insulin-dependent diabetes through partnerships with certified blood sugar alert dogs. Additionally, we advance public health by training and deploying dogs to detect other diseases.
Why do our clients need your help?
- At present, there is nothing that can be done to prevent type 1 diabetes, and no known cure.
- Insulin may keep someone alive but it also introduces risks of debilitating side effects that rapidly become life-threatening, including coma and death.
- Managing diabetes is linked to depression, isolation, fear, and a life-long financial burden.
- Diabetic Alert Dogs alert their partner to impending shifts in blood glucose, allowing time for necessary treatment BEFORE they experience dangerous side effects.
How will your donation help?
- Training and supplies to support the Puppy Raising Program
- Training and supplies for Diabetic Alert Dogs
- Veterinary care
- Client training and ongoing support
Who are you helping?
Your donations help people like Dallas who was placed with EAC Krissy after having been diagnosed as a young child with type 1 diabetes and struggling with life-threatening episodes of low blood sugar.
“Krissy has changed our lives for the better,” says Megan, Dallas’s mom. “Krissy means Dallas no longer feels alone in his journey with type 1 diabetes. He has someone who can partner with him in his highs and lows. He has his “diabuddy” that he has longed for. I, as his mom, am grateful for my child to have a living breathing partner to help me at home when I can’t rely on his technology. She often tells me before his technology does. She helps me make crucial treatment decisions. Her addition to our family has been a long-awaited blessing.
Will you make a gift today so that others like Dallas and his family can be matched with their life-saving partner? No amount is too small, because together we accomplish great things!
