Prim’s 8th Birthday Fundraiser

I have been living with Type 1 diabetes for the past 28 years. I use an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring system to manage my diabetes, along with my fabulous Diabetes Alert Dog, Prim, by my side! Prim regularly alerts me to changes in my blood glucose levels, preventing dangerous high and low blood sugars often before they can be detected by technology. She is a bundle of love, and has been alongside me for many adventures, including a rigorous Master’s in Nursing program (Prim graduated with honors!), performing at the local theater, and so much more!

Because of the amazing difference Prim has made in my health management and my life, and to celebrate her 8th birthday, I am fundraising for Early Alert Canines. EAC is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well being of insulin-dependent diabetics through partnerships with certified diabetes alert dogs. Prim and I will be joining EAC in their Virtual Annual 2 Feet 4 Paws 1 Cause Walk in June to raise awareness and funds to support their important programs. Our team "Prim & Proper" has set a fundraising goal of $500!
